BATTLE GROUND — Battle Ground’s 28th annual tree lighting ceremony will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., Battle Ground. The Battle Ground High School jazz choir will perform, and there will be refreshments courtesy of the North County Community Food Bank.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children and pose for pictures.

The annual event is a community collaboration between Battle Ground, Fire District 3, the North County Community Food Bank and the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce. The food bank will be accepting nonperishable donations. Taking a picture with Santa is free, although guests can pay $5 for printed pictures with Santa, with proceeds benefitting the Summer Playground Program.
