Boys basketball: Columbia River 64, Tumwater 53

The Chieftains had three scorers in double figures in their season-opening road victory.

Jacob Hjort paced River (1-0) with 16 points, followed by Jack Armstrong’s 15 and Nate Snook’s 14. River hit seven 3-pointers, as it outscored the T-Birds (0-1) 21-10 in the second quarter.
