Battle Ground man arrested in Woodland burglary

Police arrested a Battle Ground man who allegedly burglarized a home in Woodland Sunday afternoon after a witnesses identified the suspect.

According to Woodland Police Chief Jim Kelly, David Ace Mikeals, 47, was reportedly moving various items from a residence in the 900 block of Caples Road to his car, including a military service medal and several pieces of jewelry.

Kelly estimated that the items found in Mikeals’ car were valued between $1,000 and $1,200.

A glass pipe that tested positive for methamphetamine was also found in Mikeals’ vehicle, according to Kelly.

Mikeals was arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, second-degree possession of stolen property, second-degree theft and a felony drug violation. He was taken to the Cowlitz County Jail, with bail set at $5,000.
