Yacolt — Nearly 200 people attended Community Roots Collaborative’s first ever Farm to Table Dinner fundraiser on Oct. 1, which brought in $20,000 for the organization looking to build 200 tiny homes to combat chronic homelessness. “Our goal is to help break the stereotype of homelessness and provide compassion, help and hope to those who rarely have the chance to experience it,” Linda Garcia, executive director of Community Roots Collaborative, said in a release from the organization. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity and encouragement from throughout the community. The diversity of caring and sharing, from all walks of life, has been beautiful to witness.” The dinner was held at Pomeroy Living History Farm in Yacolt and featured an auction and live music provided by Bobbi, Jo and the New Guy.
