Letter: Stand for people, not pledge

The big flap continues on whether or not to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. Many individuals and religious groups choose to not do so. This is their right.

Maybe if our elected officials stood up for all of the people in our nation, despite their color, religion, sexual preference or political party, one would not have to fall to their knees to get some attention.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
