Esther Short — Workforce Southwest Washington hosted an event for 175 local students on Oct. 3 in observance of Manufacturing Day. The event featured 10 local manufacturing companies presenting to students from the Washington State School for the Blind, Educational Service District 112 and several other local school districts. The students learned about possible career opportunities, apprenticeships and high-paying jobs with a goal of demystifying manufacturing for the students by connecting them with local companies. They also went on a bus tour of the Port of Vancouver. The event was held at WareHouse ’23.
