Washougal — Gause Elementary School students packed into Washougal High School’s Fishback Stadium for the school’s annual Sport-a-Thon. Students split up by grade level and took turns playing through a course of physical challenges set up by parents volunteers and staffers. Students kicked soccer balls, jumped rope, ran with plastic chickens held by spoons and hopped through hoops. Gause Boosters used the Sport-a-Thon as a fundraiser to help support programs at the school such as Artist in Residence, school assemblies, wish lists for teachers, author days and literacy programs, including book donations for Muffins with Mom and Donuts with Dad events.
