North Image — About 130 Image Elementary School fifth-graders traveled to the 78th Street Heritage Farm for a field trip through the Washington State University Extension’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education and 4-H Youth Development programs. The Farm to Fork event was designed to teach students where they food comes from and how agriculture can be seen in their daily lives. The students rotated through several activities at the farm, touring the orchard, harvesting potatoes, learning about food composting and going on a scavenger hunt in the Roads to Roots garden, where they saw up close how vegetables grow and how they taste fresh from the farm.
