Thanks to the Clark County Historical Preservation Commission for having the common sense to consider removing Jefferson Davis Park from the Clark County Historical Register. It should be a no-brainer.
Now it’s time for WSDOT to finish the job by planting trees and/or shrubs to block the park from those driving on I-5. This is a way to effectively reduce its impact on our community. If WSDOT says it’s a question of budget dollars, a GoFundMe or similar page would probably take care of that in short order.
It’s proper that the park cannot be removed, as it’s on private property, but blocking it from view is the proper way to reduce its impact. Sometimes the best solution is the simplest one.
