Bagley Downs — The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington received a $6,000 grant from Wells Fargo, which will be used to fund insulin and other medications for low-income patients enrolled in the clinic’s diabetes program. The Free Clinic has a transitional program to serve patients with diabetes, helping to stabilize their condition until they find a primary care clinic that serves the uninsured. “Many of our diabetic patients face barriers so substantial that they can’t manage their disease effectively,” Free Clinic Executive Director Barbe West said in a release. “This grant will provide supplies for these patients, many of whom simply can’t afford the medications they need to survive.”
