Salmon Creek — The Salmon Creek Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees approved funding for 16 projects, totaling more than $110,000 in support of programs and services at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. An additional $35,000 was also approved to ensure the Child Abuse Assessment Center has intake coverage five days a week. The funds are made up of donations from patients, their families, Legacy Health employees and community members. One of the funded projects is a SAVI Scout for the surgical oncology department, which will make breast cancer surgery easier for women. Some of the other projects receiving funding are the hospital’s spiritual care program for the expansion of music and art therapy and a new pilot take-home meal program for malnourished patients.
