A dispute over some goods led to a stabbing that landed one man in the hospital Sunday morning, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Medical crews were called to the 1300 block of Lincoln Avenue, in the Esther Short neighborhood, around 8:50 a.m., after someone spotted a man who appeared to need medical attention.

Vancouver police Sgt. Tim Martin said it turned out that the man had been stabbed. He was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Sunday afternoon, Martin said.

Officers arrived and found that the incident took place about two blocks away, around Markle Avenue and West 13th Street.

Martin said a dispute over some property escalated into a robbery. Officers stopped the suspect in his vehicle nearby, and took Henry Castillo, 57, into custody without further incident. Castillo was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
