Police officers responded Tuesday afternoon to a report of gunfire and a possible drive-by shooting near Vancouver Mall.

Someone contacted police about hearing gunshots shortly before 4 p.m. at Northeast Thurston Way and Northeast Vancouver Mall Drive, according to dispatch logs.

Emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian indicated the incident might have been a drive-by shooting.

Vancouver Police Department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said investigators were working to piece together what happened, adding no injuries had been reported.

Officers detained a vehicle full of people for questioning, she said.

Cpl. Holly Musser said officers found one discharged round at a nearby 7-Eleven.

Musser said the those in the car officers pulled over were, apparently, the ones getting shot at.

Investigators were looking for further witnesses, she said, encouraging anyone who saw what happened or has helpful information to contact the police.
