The Clark County Sheriff’s Office identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon in Hazel Dell as 32-year-old Mikalae Harden of Vancouver.

Harden was riding a 2016 Honda CB500 north in the 5500 block of Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue when he failed to negotiate an uphill turn and traveled off the road. His body struck a metal post, according to the sheriff’s office. No other vehicles were involved.

The crash was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m.

Passers-by tried to help Harden and perform CPR before deputies and medics arrived, but he was unresponsive, the sheriff’s office said. Medics were unable to resuscitate Harden, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff’s office traffic unit was investigating.

Part of Hazel Dell Avenue from Main to 63rd streets was closed following the crash.
