HOBART — A man is facing vehicular homicide charges after driving the wrong way on Highway 18 near Hobart then crashing head-on into another car, killing the driver.
The Washington State Patrol says troopers responded to the scene just east of Hobart at about 9:45 p.m. Sunday.
KOMO-TV reports that troopers found two totaled vehicles — a Honda and an Acura.
The Acura driver, a 50-year-old Kent man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver, a 68-year-old Maple Valley man, was taken to Overlake Hospital and faces arrest after he’s released.
A preliminary investigation found the Honda driver was heading east in the westbound lanes of Highway 18 when he crashed head-on into the Acura.
Troopers say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
