A fire that started early Saturday morning damaged a house in La Center and displaced the family living in it.

According to Ben Peeler, division chief of operations for Clark County Fire and Rescue, the fire at a house on East Caples Court was reported by neighbors before 1 a.m. on Saturday. He said that the fire started from outside on the porch and made its way into the house’s attic. Peeler said the occupants of the house, a family of three, were notified of the fire and evacuated. He said there were no injuries and that the family is receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

Peeler said the Clark County Fire Marshal is conducting an investigation.
