A Vancouver woman is accused of stealing upwards of $14,000 worth of jewelry from acquaintances and selling it at pawn shops around Clark County.

Selina M. Bernardo, 22, appeared Monday in Clark County Superior Court on suspicion of first-degree theft.

On July 10, the victims reported that Bernardo stole several pieces of jewelry while she was staying at their Battle Ground residence and sold them, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Clark County sheriff’s investigators determined Bernardo pawned the stolen jewelry between April and July. In a police interview, Bernardo allegedly confirmed she stole the jewelry and pawned it at The Golden Coin & Jewelry, 715 W. Main St. Suite 115 in Battle Ground, and Tropics Jewelry & Loan, 9208 N.E. Highway 99 Suite 103 in Hazel Dell, the affidavit states.

Deputies said some of the stolen items were appraised for more than $14,000, according to court documents.

Judge Gregory Gonzales granted Bernardo supervised release. She will be arraigned Aug. 24.
