Battle Ground — Janice Bradley placed in six different events at the USA Track and Field Masters competition, held July 26-29 at Eastern Washington University in Cheney. In the 80-84 age group, Bradley, 80, of Battle Ground, won gold in the hammer throw and weight throw, silver in discus and javelin and bronze in high jump and shot put. She also scored a fourth-place ribbon in the 100-meter dash. Bradley started competing in track and field events at age 65 after years of watching her kids compete. “It’s a motivation for me to keep on practicing throughout the year and to keep on exercising throughout the year,” she said. “I still try to get in three or four times a week. It allows me to stay active in volunteerism.”
