1. Peace out

Celebrate Woodstock’s 49th anniversary (has it really been that long?) on Aug. 18 with peace, love and rock ‘n’ roll at Moulton Falls Winery, 31101 N.E. Railroad Ave., Yacolt. Wear your best tie-dye (you know you own some), flared pants, love beads, fringed vests and peace signs. The free gathering will be held outside on the winery’s large patio, under the summer sky. Guests can purchase wood-fired pizza and other food from the winery, then wash it down with wine, cider, beer or soda. Sixties throwback band Echoes of Yasgurs will take the stage at 6 p.m. and play until 9 p.m., although families with kids age 14 and older can arrive as early at 4:30 p.m. to, like, hang out and be groovy. 360-686-4070 or moultonfallswinery.com

2. ¡Ándale, ándale!

The ¡Viva Vancouver! Latin Festival will fill Esther Short Park, West Eighth and Columbia streets, with the sights, sounds, tastes and vibrant spirit of Latin culture from 1 to 10 p.m. Aug. 18 and 19. Savor Latin foods, salsa music and dancing lessons, and refresh yourself with beer and ice-cold piña coladas, then keep the party going and shop from an array of vendors selling fine art and crafts. Tickets are $10 for two-day entry, including dance lessons. Guests can also purchase a weekend pass for $25 that includes dancing lessons and 10 tasting tickets. A portion of ticket sales benefit the Clark County Latino Youth Leadership Program — although the festival is for those age 21 and older. Buy tickets online at www.tickettomato.com/event/5554 or www.vivavancouverlatinfestival.com

3. Cocktail hours

Vancouver’s artisan beverage-makers (and there are many; about 30 locations are on this year’s Sip & Stroll tasting map) are ready to quench your thirst with a tantalizing array of craft brews, fine wines, summery cocktails and culinary creations from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 18. Begin your tour at 1602 Main St., Vancouver, to get your map, commemorative glass and wristband, which grants you access to participating establishments. Enjoy live music as you stroll around town — or, if you get tired, hop on one of the free shuttles that will ferry passengers along the tasting route. When you’re done sampling, bottles of your favorite beverages will be available to purchase at the starting location. Tickets are $35 online or $45 on the day of the event, and proceeds benefit the nonprofit Hough Foundation. 360-992-7060 or www.houghfoundation.org/sip-and-stroll

4. Much ado about something

The Bard is coming to Say Ciao! Columbia River Taproom and Eatery — in spirit, if not in person — during the Shakes Beer and Wine Festival, at 2 p.m. Aug. 18 and 19 at 2501 S.E. Columbia Way, Suite 270, Vancouver. Players from the Original Practice Shakespeare Festival will perform “Much Ado About Nothing” (Aug. 18) and “The Two Gentlemen of Verona” (Aug. 19). The actors are (mostly) experienced, but the plays are comically under-rehearsed, leading to performances that are different every time. Afterward, enjoy live music on the patio with Fortunate Son, a Credence Clearwater Revival tribute band. The eatery will serve a special menu with 13 local beers and ciders on tap, as well as six wines by the glass and a thoughtful selection of wine by the bottle. The festival is free and open to all ages. www.opsfest.org or www.Say-Ciao.com

5. Bounce houses, big-time fun

The annual Family Fun Fest — now in its fourth year — brings a free, family-friendly carnival to east Vancouver from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18, with giant inflatable bouncers, temporary tattoos, cotton candy, popcorn, carnival-style games, and free ice pops and candy for kids. There will be prize drawings and giveaways throughout the event, held at Fisher Basin Park, where Mill Plain Boulevard intersects Southeast 192nd Avenue. The Family Fun Fest is a partnership between the Evergreen School District Foundation’s “Stuff the Bus” campaign and more than 50 local businesses and nonprofit organizations, which will have booths on site offering free information and resources. 541-730-0486 or vancouverfamilyfunfest.com
