Lindsey Buckingham has gone solo before and he’s doing it again, hitting the road this fall with his own U.S. tour and a career-spanning compilation.
The Fleetwood Mac alum launches the expansive tour Oct. 7 in Portland and continues through early December, ending in Pennsylvania.
The tour is in support of the forthcoming “Solo Anthology: The Best of Lindsey Buckingham,” which Pitchfork reported includes new songs “Hunger” and “Ride This Road.”
Buckingham was let go by Fleetwood Mac earlier this year after, ironically, a disagreement over touring.
“It’s like a marriage that came to an end and there are reasons why, and as a band we needed to move on,” bandmate Mick Fleetwood said on “CBS This Morning” at the time. Asked if Buckingham had been fired, he replied, “We don’t use that word, because I think it’s ugly.”
Stevie Nicks explained that the group “wanted to get out on the road, and one of the members did not want to go out on the road for a year. We just couldn’t agree.”
Buckingham previously left Fleetwood Mac in the late ’80s, only to return a decade later.
Released on Rhino Records, “Solo Anthology” will be available digitally and as a three-CD set on Oct. 5, and on six LPs for those who wait until Nov. 30. There will also be an abridged single-CD issue, and a concert ticket purchase includes a CD or digital copy of the music.
Tickets for Buckingham’s tour go on sale Aug. 18.
