Two Vancouver women were arrested on suspicion of various charges following a police chase ending in a crash in Beaverton, Ore.

Jessica Marie Jones, 40, is facing charges of felony attempting to elude, criminal mischief and three counts of identity theft. Katelyn Noell Johnson, 22, may be charged with misdemeanor attempting to elude, second-degree theft and possession of methamphetamine, according to a news release from the Beaverton Police Department.

Police said both suspects are Vancouver residents.

On Saturday night around 9 p.m., officers tried to pull over a 2018 Mercedes near Southwest Canyon Road and 110th Ave. A witness reported that the occupants of the vehicle had stolen hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from a Kohl’s store.

“A short vehicle pursuit ensued and the driver of the suspect vehicle crashed into a concrete divider” near U.S. Route 26 and exit 71 for Sylvan, according to the police department.

Two people who had been inside the Mercedes fled on foot as another individual was taken into custody. A police dog quickly caught up with one of the people who ran from the car, but the third suspect got away.

Police found stolen items from Kohl’s, drugs and evidence of identity theft inside the vehicle.

Jones and Johnson were booked into Washington County Jail.
