Letter: Don’t underestimate warming

We have an election coming and all sorts of issues are being brought forward, except for one: rapid global warming. President Trump wants to build a wall between the USA and Mexico, when he truly should consider building dikes along the southern Texas coast. Yes, we have had global warming periods in earth’s past, but these took thousands of years to take place. We, on the other hand, are achieving this in decades and, if we cannot stop it, this earth will be uninhabitable for humans in a hundred years (or maybe substantially less).

Doubters, pray to God that this warming is caused by humans because, if it is, then we can do something about. And my grandchildren can look forward to a good life.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
