PORTLAND — A fire in Southeast Portland sent plumes of smoke into the sky Sunday afternoon, threatening commercial businesses but ultimately leaving them unscathed.
Nobody was injured. It took Portland Fire and Rescue 17 minutes to contain the fire, spokesman Rich Chatman said.
The fire, which was on or near the property of Gear Production Rentals at Southeast 26th Avenue and Southeast Schiller, involved three RVs, Chatman said. People in the area reported heavy fire and multiple propane tank explosions.
The department is still investigating.
