A Vancouver man and teen were killed Thursday after a vehicle struck their family’s car head-on.

Oregon State Police identified the victims Friday as 48-year-old Ignacio Torres and a 16-year-old boy. Two passengers in their car, Stacy Torres, 45, and a 12-year-old boy were seriously injured, according to a police update.

Shortly after 10 p.m. Aug. 23, troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Highway 26 near Banks, Ore. A gray 2014 Kia Cadenza was traveling east on the highway when for an unknown reason it crossed the centerline and struck a westbound 2010 Lexus HS 250, driven by Ignacio Torres, according to troopers.

The driver of the Kia, Stephanie Brieger, 45, of Ocean Park, also was killed in the crash. Ignacio Torres and the 16-year-old boy were pronounced dead at the scene. Stacy Torres and the 12-year-old boy were transported by air ambulance to a Portland-area hospital.

Neither boys’ names were released.

Troopers determined speed and lane occupancy contributed to the crash.

Oregon State Police was assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office,  Banks Fire Department, Washington County Medical Examiner and Oregon Department of Transportation.
