Clark men’s basketball goes 3-0 at Spokane event

The Clark College men’s basketball team finished 3-0 at the Bigfoot Classic in Spokane by closing out with a 73-64 win Sunday over area rival Lower Columbia.

Clark (6-0) pulled away in the second half after being down by seven at halftime.

Tyler Fernstrom and Sethon Moore each had double-doubles for Clark. Fernstrom had a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Moore had 10 points and 18 rebounds.

Lower Columbia’s Samaad Hector, a Skyview High grad, came off the bench to score 15 points and pull down 10 rebounds. Prairie grads Dwayne Stewart added 10 points and six rebounds, and Seth Hall had 11 points.

WOMEN: YAKIMA VALLEY 61, CLARK 60 — The Penguins came close to their first win of the season, but fell just short in the game at Wenatchee.

Jodi Thomasian had a double-double for Clark with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Hockinson High grad Payton Wangler had 13 points, and Alexus Hunter had 11 points and seven rebounds.
