Update: The Interstate 205 crash was cleared in about 20 minutes.

Original story: A crash on southbound Interstate 205 briefly blocked all lanes in that direction.

The Washington State Department of Transportation issued a travel alert around 8:30 a.m. about the crash at Milepost 36.5, just south of Exit 36 at Northeast 134th Street.

“Roadway is fully blocked, use caution and expect delays,” the alert said.

About ten minutes after emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, the transportation department reported that a single lane of traffic was blocked.

Traffic maps showed vehicles backing up in the area of the crash, with the line of cars stretching north of the freeway’s junction with Interstate 5.

There was a second crash this morning that slowed commute in Vancouver on state Highway 500.

The highway crash also happened around 8:30 a.m. at Milepost 1.1 near St. Johns Boulevard.

It blocked a single lane of traffic, but only for about 15 minutes.
