Girls basketball: Washougal 51, Black Hills 45

Beyonce Bea became career scoring leading for girls basketball at Washougal as the Panthers beat Black Hills 51-45 on Friday night in Tumwater.

Bea scored her ninth point of the game early in the third quarter to give you 1,353 points for her career to pass Krissy Bassett on the all-time Washougal list.

Bea would finish with 16 points, 13 rebounds, six steals, five blocks and three assists as the Panthers improved to 4-1 on the season.

The Panthers used a 12-3 advantage in the second quarter to open a double-digit lead they maintained until Black Hills rallied late.

McKinley Stotts added 15 points and seven rebounds for Washougal.

The Panthers now get a 10-day break before opening 2A Greater St. Helens League play at Mark Morris on Dec. 17.
