LONGVIEW — A former Longview School Board member accused of possessing child pornography pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday at the Cowlitz County Jail.

Richard Gregory Lord Jr., 46, is charged with first- and second-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

A sheriff’s deputy arrested him last month in Nevada on suspicion that he had obtained several lewd photographs of a teenage girl, whom he also took to a state school board directors conference in November 2017. They stayed in a hotel room with one bed, and Lord gave her alcohol and marijuana and touched her breasts, she told investigators.

The alleged victim said Lord likely got photographs of her from her cellphone.

Lord has posted $100,000 bail and is free until his April 9 trial.
