Clark men beat Whatcom 86-77

Clark women lose to Walla Walla

Parker Gaddis scored 29 points as the Clark College men’s basketball team beat Whatcom 86-77 Friday on the first day of the Bellingham crossover event.

Gaddis, a sophomore from San Antonio, made 10 of 17 shots with five 3-pointers. He also had eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Isaiah Turner came off the bench to score 16 points, and Sethon Moore had 15 points and seven rebounds.

King’s Way Christian grad Matt Garrison had eight rebounds and five points. Heritage grad LaTrell Johnson had six points and three rebounds.

Clark (7-1) plays Highline today at Pavilion Gym in Bellingham. Highline (6-3) is coming off a 98-68 loss to Big Bend (8-1). Clark will play Big Bend on Sunday.

Women

Walla Walla proved too deep as the Clark women lost to the Warriors 58-39 at the Clark crossover event at the O’Connell Sports Complex in Vancouver.

Mahrysa Thomas led the Penguins with 16 points. Kelso High grad Turner Joy had 11 rebounds.

For Walla Walla (6-3), Jessica Cheney had 13 points and 15 rebounds, Holly Golenor led all scorers with 21 points and had 12 rebounds. McKenzie Gunter had 10 rebounds.

Clark (1-8) plays Shoreline (1-5) at 4 p.m. today. Grays Harbor (4-2) beat Shoreline 84-60 in the first game Friday. On Sunday, Shoreline plays Walla Walla at 1 p.m. followed by Clark vs. Grays Harbor at 3 p.m.
