Letter: Build a wall around White House

By Dan Wilson, Vancouver

I finally have to agree: we not only need a wall, but also a fence. The wall would be built around the White House, safely containing Trump and his cabinet along with a few select members of Congress. This would protect the rest of the country from their catastrophic social, economic and diplomatic practices.

And the fence? This would be a small ‘invisible’ fence used for pets. In the center would be Trump’s cell phone, with a shock collar of adjustable magnitude attached to him. This would go a long way in protecting the rest of the world from this Twittering maniac.

If covered by a live feed, the viewership would exceed that of YouTube. The only downside I can see is the possible erosion of both Fox and CNN’s National Enquirer style of journalism. With a silent Trump and an actually functioning Congress, what would they report on? Both have fallen from the practice of objective journalism.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
