2019 Economic Forecast Breakfast set for January

Jason DeSena Trennert, chairman and CEO of Strategas Securities, LLC, is the keynote presenter for the 2019 Economic Forecast Breakfast set for Thursday, Jan. 17.

Registration is open for the event, presented by Riverview Community Bank and The Columbian.

Doors open at 6:30 a.m. and the talks are planned for 7 a.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St., Vancouver.

Trennert co-founded Strategas, which began with five employees. Today, the global institutional brokerage and advisory firm employs over 45 research analysts, institutional salesmen, and sales traders at its offices in New York and Washington, D.C.

He is a regular guest on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” and “Bloomberg Surveillance.” His second book, “My Side of the Street,” was published in May. He has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and BS in International Economics from Georgetown University.

Other speakers include Rukaiyah Adams, chief investment officer at Meyer Memorial Trust, who leads the nonprofit’s investment strategies; Scott Keeney, CEO and co-founder of nLIGHT, the high-power semiconductor and fiber laser company with headquarters in Vancouver and facilities in Hillboro, Ore.; Shanghai, China; and Lohja, Finland; and David Nierenberg, founder and president of Nierenberg Investment Co., of Camas, which manages the D3 Family Funds; and Scott Bailey, regional economist for the Washington Employment Security Department, Portland Public Schools board member and Clark College economics teacher.

Tickets are $55 and include a sit-down breakfast. Advanced registration is required. Tickets are not available at the door. Individual seats and tables of 10 are available.

The first 50 students to register are free, sponsored by engineering firm BergerABAM.
