Letter: Herrera Beutler needs to focus

Checking the news recently, I saw that President Donald Trump is not enforcing sanctions against Russia that the Senate passed, 98 to 2, in response to election meddling, and also that the assistant FBI director who Trump has been pressuring to resign has, in fact, resigned, and also that the Republican part of the House Intelligence Committee was releasing their partisan interpretation of the Russia investigation and not allowing the Democrats to do the same. How depressing for the state of our nation.

Then I got a beep to let me know I have an email, which was from my representative, Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground. She wanted me to know she’d toured a local high school. I want her announcing that she’ll protect special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, and I get her announcing that she’s fighting for salmon. I’m in favor of protecting fish, but we have bigger problems at the moment.
