Emma Dietel scored 16 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Hawks fell to Mark Morris in a tiebreaker to decide the 2A Greater St. Helens League’s No. 2 and 3 seeds to the district playoffs.

Six-foot post Libby Bartleson scored 22 points to lead Mark Morris (15-6) to the win at Ridgefield High. The Monarchs led 36-23 at halftime.

“They owned us on the boards,” Hockinson coach Damon Roche said. “We were uncharacteristically not assertive tonight. We had a season-low seven steals.”

Hockinson (13-7) travels to face Black Hills in a first-round game on Friday.

Mark Morris gets a home game in the first round Friday against Centralia.
