Jovon Sewell had 16 points and three others had 11 — Kyle Gruhler, Samaad Hector and Chris Webster — as the co-4A GSHL champions remained alive in the 4A bi-district tournament.

Skyview shot 38 percent, including 3 of 18 from 3-point range, but did a lot of its damage at the free-throw line. It converted 21 of 33 at the stripe, paced by Sewell (10 of 14).

After a 58-44 loss to Kennedy Catholic to open bi-districts, coach Matt Gruhler said his team was re-focused after letting a nine-point lead in the fourth quarter slip away against the Lancers.

Skyview (20-3) faces Auburn at 7:45 p.m. Monday at Tacoma’s Mount Tahoma High School. The Storm must win two loser-out bi-district games to reach the state tournament.

“They know that the path might be different, but he goal is still the same,” Gruhler said. “We’re trying to get to a point where we can get to where we want to be in the first place, and we knew this was a first step.”
Skyview led 36-29 entering the fourth quarter against the Lions (7-18).
