The Titans picked up their intensity in the second half to win the third-place game of the 4A bi-district tournament held at Puyallup High School.

The Titans (20-5) trailed by four going into the fourth quarter, where Ethan Smith made two three points in the last few minutes to pull Union ahead.

Smith finished with a game-high 23 points. Jason Franklin Jr. had 14 points, and Tyler combs had 11 points.

Union also had a 30-22 edge in rebounding over Curtis.

“Anytime you play a really good team, it helps you for the playoffs,” Union coach Blake Conley said. “It was good to come back late. It was good playing a team with pressure defense because good teams will do that.”
