County’s Green Gala to honor stewardship

Clark County is hosting a Green Gala celebration to recognize achievements and highlight personal projects that demonstrate environmental stewardship.

The event is free and open to any business or individual interested in environmental sustainability.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St., Vancouver.

Five awards will be presented to businesses and community members who stand out as sustainability leaders.

Categories include:

• Green Apple Award for a school employee.

• Green Business Awards for one small and one large business.

• Green Neighbor Award for a citizen.

• Master Composter Recycler Superstar for a volunteer.

A reception will follow the awards ceremony.
