A fire heavily damaged a house in Amboy Monday night, according to Clark County Fire District 10.

Capt. Matt Sciaretta said the fire was “90 percent” involved at 40601 N.E. Gerber-McKee Road, Amboy, when the firefighters showed up shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday. There were no injuries, as all occupants had already evacuated, Sciaretta said, adding that damage to the house was extensive.

“It’s a total loss,” he said.

There was a strong east wind that expedited growth and spread the fire through the structure, Sciaretta said.

He added that the fire marshal was out Monday night, but no cause of the fire has been determined yet.

The firefighters were out until around 11 p.m. working to put out the fire, and Fire District 10 had some assistance from Fire District 13 out of Yacolt, which sent an engine and a tender. There were roughly 22 people working on the fire, Sciaretta said.
