LAKEWOOD — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a man’s body was found in the truck of a car that had been impounded and taken to a tow yard in Pierce County.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department says employees at Tacoma Towing found the man’s body Thursday afternoon inside the trunk of a silver Saturn sedan at the tow yard in Lakewood. Investigators believe the victim is a 49-year-old man from Roy.
The car was privately towed to the lot from Tacoma around Wednesday afternoon.
The medical examiner’s office is working to confirm his identity.
