Last spring after all the rains, we had a nice big pothole at the corner of Southeast Seventh Street and Southeast Chkalov Drive. It was repaired, not too well, and repaired again, and we still have a pothole. Now, going north on Chkalov you go over a roller coaster just to go north on Interstate 205.
Who approves that the job is done to satisfaction and who approves the payment for the job?
If it is a city crew, fire them! And if it is a private concern, ask for a refund and find out who approved payment and fire them, too. And maybe we could have some smooth streets again.
All these things are under the Vancouver city manager’s responsibilities, whom the city council gave a big raise, in part because other city managers made more money. Well, duh! Maybe the other city managers do a better job!
