Hudson’s Bay — The Fort Vancouver chapter of The Daughters of the Pioneers of Washington recently earned the large silver membership tray from The Daughters of the Pioneers state group.

The chapter’s name was engraved on the plate to commemorate Fort Vancouver adding more new members in the 2016-2017 fiscal year than any of the other 12 chapters in the state. This is the first time Fort Vancouver has earned the honor.

President Sherry Lambert tried to draw in new members by hosting fun social gatherings in addition to monthly programs.

The daughters recently attended the Miracle of a Million Lights at the 1885 Victorian Belle mansion in Portland. The nonprofit is seeking new members with ancestors who arrived in Washington by 1870 or earlier, in Oregon by 1853 or earlier, or in Idaho or Montana west of the Rocky Mountains by 1863 or earlier.

Research help to determine membership eligibility is available. For more information about the group and membership, contact Lambert at 360-600-9087.
