Letter: Be a patriot, save democracy

It is a fact that Russians meddled in our 2016 election. For people to say or think this did not affect the outcome of the election is preposterous.

Politicians and businessmen spend billions of dollars placing ads to influence people every day. If they didn’t have tangible proof that this worked do you really think we would still have commercials on TV? The election was definitely swayed by Russian influence, and this is not over yet. What does Russia want? Something! A burglar doesn’t just break into your home and jump up and down with joy and say, “Woo hoo! I did it!” No, they take something.

I am infuriated, shocked, afraid and appalled that the Republicans in Congress are actively trying to impede special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation and are doing nothing to stop further Russian meddling.

Be a patriot, save democracy, protest, and vote Democrat this November.
