Letter: Trump no friend of working people

By Alan J. Granat, Washougal
Published: July 5, 2018, 6:00am

President Trump supporters should read, and read again, the front-page stories regarding the Supreme Court decision in Janus v. AFSCME (“Union ruling called a blow” and “Court: Public workers can’t be forced to pay union dues,” June 28, The Columbian).

Trump and his administration are not your friends, champions or anything like that. They will tread over you and get your allegiance by pandering to your basest instincts. Aren’t you better than that?

And you deserve what you get. The trouble is, the good people of our wonderful country do not.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
