1. Old tractors, new tricks
The public is invited to see Ridgefield resident Alan Schurman’s huge collection of antique tractors and engines — and enjoy a farm-style swap meet featuring old tractor parts, tools, antiques and other treasures — at the Iron Ranch Antique Tractor, Engine Show and Flea Market, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 21 and 22 at the Iron Ranch, 23100 N.E. 10th Ave., Ridgefield; $5 per carload, free parking. 2. Get fired up
Have a blazing good time while learning about safety issues at Fire in the Park, the largest childhood injury prevention event in Clark County. This free event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 21 at Esther Short Park, West Eighth and Columbia streets, Vancouver, features interactive displays highlighting everything from fire prevention and bike safety to emergency preparedness and CPR. 3. Going whole hog
Time to get stuffed at Northwood’s Pig Roast, where a whole hog is filled with Italian sausage and seasoned pork loins and then slow-roasted for maximum flavor. Meals will be served from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 21 at Northwood Public House and Brewery, 1401 S.E. Rasmussen Blvd., Battle Ground; free admission.
