Letter: Support Initiative 1631

Some people are saying that climate change worry is “for the birds.”

Yes, it is about the birds — which are endangered due to changes in habitat and climate. According to the Audubon Society, 314 bird species in North America are threatened by climate change.

What can we do? Of course, climate change is a global problem. But we can act locally to reduce greenhouse gasses, one of the main contributors to climate change.

Please vote yes on Initiative 1631, which will reduce pollution and promote a clean-energy future. For more information, see https://yeson1631.org.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
