Battle Ground art teacher honored by state association

Battle Ground — Tukes Valley Middle School art teacher Debbie Supplitt was named the Washington Art Education Association’s 2018 Mid-Level Art Educator of the Year. The annual award recognizes outstanding professionalism, service, promotion and support of the arts by individual art educators in the state. Supplitt has received various grants and awards, and has been in Battle Ground since 2009. She was nominated by her colleagues for the award for her collaborative spirit, and the association received a number letters of support from her community, including past and present principals. Supplitt will receive her award in October, and will become eligible for future nominations for regional and national recognition.
