Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler’s delayed response to the president’s statements following the Helsinki summit underscored a tedious disingenuousness that I’ve come to expect from her. She touts the “clarification” of his stance on supporting U.S. intelligence reports on Russian meddling in our electoral system while mimicking the president’s party trick of casting doubt about the source of the threat. To wit: “I support ongoing efforts to determine which foreign actors interfered in the U.S. elections.” Hmmm? Still unclear?
I hope Americans are tired of this. Vote Carolyn Long for the 3rd District; help restore some badly needed checks and balances to our system.
