A pedestrian was seriously injured early Sunday morning after he was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of state Highway 503 and Northeast 189th Street in Battle Ground.

Police responded to the crash scene about 2:34 a.m., according to emergency dispatch logs.

Battle Ground police spokeswoman Bonnie Gilberti said the initial investigation found that the pedestrian was walking on the inside of the left lane on northbound Highway 503 when he was struck.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, Gilberti said. The driver remained at the scene.
