Paving on Interstate 5 begins Monday

Kelso — Drivers traveling Interstate 5 between Kelso and Woodland should be prepared for delays by paving and bridge preservation.

Starting Monday, Lakeside Industries, the Washington State Department of Transportation’s contractor will repair sections of the roadway, requiring some daytime and nighttime lane closures.

One lane in either direction of the interstate will close during the day, sections between Lexington Bridge Drive in Kelso and the East Fork Lewis River Bridge south of Woodland up to two lanes will close at night.

The northbound and southbound I-5 on and off ramps at Todd Road, Kalama River Road and North Kelso Avenue will close at night.

The northbound I-5 on- and off-ramps to Lexington Bridge Drive will close at night.

The work area will have a reduced speed limit. The project is expected to close in the fall.
