Vancouver police arrested a woman early Saturday morning after she allegedly stabbed her husband in a domestic dispute at an apartment complex near the Vancouver Mall.

Police responded to a call of a domestic disturbance at about 12:10 a.m. at the Walnut Grove Apartments, 4701 N.E. 72nd Ave. in Vancouver, said Sgt. David Krebs of the Vancouver Police Department.

Officers found a husband and wife suffering from wounds in a fight that involved a kitchen knife, Krebs said.

The husband was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for wounds that were not life threatening, Krebs said. The man was later released.

Police arrested Mary Akana, of Vancouver, for first degree assault, Krebs said. She was not taken to the hospital.
