Clark College assistant head women’s soccer coach Jeff Castagnola is taking over as head coach, the school announced Friday on its website.

Castagnola replaces Sean Janson, who accepted a new position of Director of Outreach for the women’s soccer program.

“As this program expands, it’s vitally important that we assist our players in moving on to four year universities. This includes ensuring good academics as well as excellence on the pitch,” Janson said in a statement. “The program has grown beyond what I can handle. Jeff Castagnola is an excellent coach who can take the program to the next level on the pitch and I look forward to supporting him in pursuit of the goal of an NWAC title.”

The Penguins have won the NWAC South Region title the past two seasons.
